Maple Nut Brownies Recipe (1)

We have a great love for maple flavoring and maple frosting. If I were to pick out a favorite donut at the bakery, it would be a maple frosted long john.

It’s a quick and easy dessert because the brownie bottom is a boxed brownie mix. Brace yourself, these are sooooo good. You may just eat the whole pan yourself.

If you are looking for a fall dessert, this is the perfect one. Forget the pumpkin spice, try these delicious Maple Nut Brownies. You won’t regret it.

how to make Maple Nut Brownies:

Step 1:Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of a 9 x 9 baking dish.

I used a glass baking dish.

Step 2: Make the brownies as directed on the box – stirring the brownie mix, pouch of chocolate syrup that comes in the brownie mix box, water, oil, and egg.

Step 3: Mix until well blended with a wooden spoon then spread into prepared pan.

Step 4: Cook for 34 to 37 minutes. If your pan is 8 x 8 then cook for 42 to 45 minutes.

Step 5:Let it cool completely, when done baking.

Step 6: For the maple peanut layer, mix the corn syrup, butter, water, and maple flavoring until well blended.

I used a hand mixer for this step, but you could use a sturdy whisk or spoon as well.

Step 7: Then beat in the powdered sugar. The filling will be very thick.

Step 8: Spread the maple nut filling, evenly over the cooled brownie layer.

I placed spoonfuls all around the brownie button and then kind of smashed down the maple nut mixture. It is a little difficult to spread since it is so thick.

Step 9: Sprinkle the maple nut filling with peanuts, and pat down gently with your hand or back of a spoon.

Step 10: In a small microwavable bowl, microwave the chocolate chips and oil for about 1 to 1 1 /2 minutes, stirring once until melted.

Step 9: Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the peanuts. Refrigerate for about 1 hour or until the chocolate is set.

I microwaved mine for a total of 2 minutes, taking it out every 30 seconds to stir it.

Step 10: Heat a sharp knife under hot water, and slice the brownies into squares.

Step 11: Sink your teeth into your new favorite fall dessert, and enjoy.

What is the trick to cutting these so they don't fall apart? Although, they were delicious in pieces, too, but still, I'd love to be able to serve them a little more nicely...mine did not come out all neat like your picture at all!

  4. Cyd says:

Was your problem in the chocolate layer on top? I ran my knife under hot water for a second so that it would slice through the chocolate layer on top smoothly. Hope this helps!

  5. MaryAnn says:

Divine! Skipped the top layer, just made the brownie with the maple walnut frosting and it was to die for! Yum, will definitely make again!
